Will Young says his latest album has been a ''breath of fresh of air'' for him.

The singer - who shot to fame after winning UK TV talent show 'Pop Idol' in 2002 - recently released his fifth studio LP, 'Echoes', and he has been so pleased with how the record has been received.

He said: ''It's been like a breath of fresh air for me. It's probably been the most critically acclaimed of all my albums and I think after 10 years, having that as well as it going to number one, is just great, I feel like I've got this new lease of life and I'm evolving as a songwritier.''

As well as having a successful singing career, Will has branched out into acting and he says doing that made him a better singer.

He told TV show 'Loose Women': ''I love singing now more than I ever did and maybe that's because I've done acting, and after this record's down I'm going to do the stage show 'Cabaret'.''

Will performs at London's Kew Gardens on Saturday (07.07.12) as part of the annual Kew the Music series of concerts. Visit http://www.kew.org/visit-kew-gardens/whats-on/kew-the-music/tickets/index.htm for more information.

He also takes to the stage at Epsom Downs racecourse on July 12 for Epsom Live. Further information about the event, including separate shows performed by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tonight (05.07.12) and Razorlight on July 19, can be found at http://www.epsomdowns.co.uk/live.
