Willie Nelson has paid tribute to his friend Glen Campbell in a new Rolling Stone magazine expose, revealing the Wichita Lineman singer helped him stay solvent at the beginning of his career.
The publication's Patrick Doyle asked a host of stars for their thoughts about Campbell, who announced he is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease in June (11), for his article - and Nelson provided a real eye-opener about the singer's generosity.
He explained, "He's always been a big help to me. During one of my down years, he signed me to his publishing company and paid me a lot of money.
"I only wrote one song, and it was Bloody Mary Morning. I hope he got his money back."
