Yoko Ono paid tribute to NOWHERE BOY director Sam Taylor-Wood at the film's premiere in New York City - insisting her late husband John Lennon "would have loved" his depiction in the movie.
Taylor-Wood's Lennon biopic was unveiled in the Big Apple last week (begs20Sep10) and Ono was in attendance at the red carpet event.
And the veteran singer made sure the director was aware of her appreciation by taking the microphone during the film's introduction and praising Taylor-Wood for her attention to detail, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
Ono said, "John would have loved it... because you know the pain he went through in his childhood. It made him a very wise person."
Taylor-Wood, 43, attended with her partner, lead actor Aaron Johnson, 20, who she met on set. The couple became parents to a daughter, Wylda Rae, in July (10).
