THE HANGOVER star Zach Galifianakis was thrilled to be asked to host hit U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live earlier this year (10) - because he'd been thrown off the set twice before.
The funnyman admits he once sneaked onto the set to watch a rehearsal and was asked to leave. Years later, he landed a two-week stint as a writer on the show before he was fired.
He recalls, "When I first moved to New York I snuck into the set for Saturday Night Live. I don't know what I was thinking but I went to the Donahue show (talk show) and I knew he was filming next to Saturday Night Live. I sat through Donahue and when everybody left I just sat and watched them rehearse Saturday Night Live. I guess this was 1997.
"It was surreal walking out on the stage as a guest years later knowing I got kicked out years before for trespassing.
"I actually wrote for Saturday Night Live for two weeks 10 years ago... There was not one laugh the whole time I was there. It was like, 'What have I done?' Then they let me go."
