Zoe Saldana has revealed she was only ready to get married to her husband Marco Perago when she had got used to spending time on her own.
Zoe Saldana got married when she ''lost the fear of being alone''.
The 'Avatar' star - who tied the knot with artist, Marco Perago last year - has admitted being single for brief period of time before the pair met allowed her to calm her fears of being on her own.
She told Fashion magazine: ''I was finally able to spend time without being in a relationship and even though, it was a short period of time, it was beautiful.
''Where I lost that fear of being alone. It was bliss.
She added: ''I met my partner when I was in really a beautiful place in my life. When you are desired and you desire, so many things in your life start to make sense.''
Zoe, 36 - who was with entrepreneur, Keith Britton, for 11 years until November 2011 and later dated actor Bradley Cooper until January 2013 - also bonded with Marco over their shared love of art.
She said: ''We both feel we are artists in our core. One moment you're up; the next moment you're down. It all depends. You can sell a collection; you might not sell the next collection. It's like an actor - you get cast or you don't.''
