Zooey Deschanel believes in true love and hasn't ruled out finding someone to spend the rest of her life with.
Zooey Deschanel believes in true love.
The 'New Girl' star hopes to find Mr. Right after divorcing Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard in 2011 and is confident she will find her ''forever'' partner just like her parents did, but it might not be in the way she expects.
Asked whether she believes in love, she enthused: ''Absolutely! Of course! I truly believe in true love in spite of the break-up. I'm not saying it's not ephemeral. I'm just saying that true love may be out of the box.
''That lasts forever... Yes, I do believe in it. My parents have been married for 40 years and my grandparents were married for 70 years. I come from a long line of true loves.''
The quirky star, who also fronts country band She & Him, is drawn to artistic types like musicians and actors and thinks The One will have a creative streak to rival her own.
She explained in an interview with Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: ''I'd be more likely to go for somebody who is like me. Well, I like creative people, so whatever that means... Yeah, authentic and creative. ''
