Zsa Zsa Gabor, the Hollywood actress who has endured numerous health problems in recent years, celebrated her silver wedding anniversary on Sunday (14th August 2011). 94-year-old Gabor and her husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt held a private party for close friends, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The couple, who wed on 14th August 1986, invited around 70 guests to the soiree in Los Angeles, including Phyllis Diller and composer Quincy Jones. Back in July, Von Anhalt rented an entire billboard announcing the celebration on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California. The anniversary comes after a turbulent few years for the actress, who has been in and out of hospital and had her leg amputated in January. Speaking at the party on Sunday, Gabor's husband said, "This party I wanted it to be special, I wanted it to be like 25 years ago when we got married we celebrated like that.Look, my wife is 94-year-old. She should have everything she wants and she should have everything large. This big party is not for the guests, not for the media, not for me. This big party is for Zsa Zsa". The actress was partially paralyzed after a car accident in 2002, and she broke her hip in July after falling out of bed. During one bout of ill health last year, Gabor had a priest read her last rites.
The 'Moulin Rouge' star was hospitalized in March after the death of her close friend Elizabeth Taylor made her "inconsolable".
