Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt says although his wife has slipped into a coma and is unresponsive, he will never ask doctors to "shut down" her treatment. Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday evening (17th May 2011) for emergency stomach surgery, but her condition has dramatically worsened since.
Prince Frederic, who married the ailing actress in 1986, says he has been told to "expect the worst" by doctors but is remaining optimistic, telling Germany's Bunte magazine, "I would never say, Shutdown! It was 25 years ago that we promised each other that we will take care of each other - till the end. But what shall I do? I don't know what she wants. I can't talk to her, I just can hope that this all is right". The 94-year-old actress has been in and out of hospital since falling and breaking her hip last summer. She had part of her leg amputated in January 2011 and was rushed to hospital in March following the death of her close friend Elizabeth Taylor. Her husband admits he is unsure as to the best course of treatment for his wife, saying, "They asked me, 'What shall we do? Minimum treatment, medium or maximum? Do you want your wife to live on?' And I look like an idiot and say, 'Of course we give her the right treatment because I can't just decide over her life".
Zsa Zsa Gabor has been married nine times in total. She has been divorced seven times and had one marriage annulled. She wed the hotel magnate Conrad Hilton in1942 and the couple had one child together, Francesca Hilton. She later married, George Sanders, Herbert Hunter and the Mexican attorney FELIPE DE ALBA.
