Italian superstar Zucchero is making one final bid to make it big in America by releasing an album of duets with pals like Eric Clapton, Sting and Sheryl Crow.

The pop star has teamed up with US coffee chain Starbucks, the same company behind Ray Charles' celebrated 2004 duets album GENIUS LOVES COMPANY, to release ZUCCHERO + CO, which has already been a hit in Europe.

On the new album, Zucchero also teams up with fellow Italians LUCIANO Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, who he discovered, but he admits the highlight was getting the chance to work with his hero JOHN LEE HOOKER before the blues legend died.

He says, "That was a dream for me."
